R. Corey Waller, MD, MS, FACEP, DFASAM, is a board-certified and actively practicing addiction and emergency medicine specialist with extensive experience working at the local, state, and national levels. He works with the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) and related organizations to advance the evidence-based practice of treatment and recovery for individuals affected by addiction. A nationally recognized expert in SUD, he is the Editor in Chief of The ASAM Criteria.
As the Chief Medical Officer for Brightview Health, he is responsible for the quality of care, education, and service characteristics of over 1300 providers and 90+ locations in 7 states. Brightview delivers the full spectrum of outpatient addiction treatment services, including COE and the treatment of special populations.
In his prior role as Managing Director of the HMA Institute on Addiction, he was directly responsible for consultation regarding addiction treatment system development for hospitals, primary care practices, justice-involved populations, and addiction treatment providers. He oversaw the HMAedu.com learning management system and developed education covering addiction, pain, behavioral health, and administrative support for those systems.
