Clinical Manager of the Traumatic Stress Program All Points North Lodge Edwards, Colorado
Session Description: As treatments of psychological trauma emerge, determining which of these are safe and effective across multiple levels of care, as well as incorporating new neurobiologically based interventions becomes paramount. Existing methods of treating both PTSD and CPTSD such as psychodrama, Internal Family Systems, EMDR, DBT have been proven in the literature and in treatment outcomes. However, today’s emerging treatment methods including Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy, Stella Ganglion block, Ketamine, deep Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation , neurofeedback and SSP are utilized less frequently. Clinicians and clinical programs can incorporate some of these emerging methods safely and effectively across levels of care depending on the different levels of psychiatric severity. Presentation will explore ways newer and emerging neurobiologically based treatments can be utilized with existing methods to improve overall outcomes by increasing our ability to effectively treat the constellation of symptoms that exists with complex traumatic stress disorders across a continuum of care. This presentation can be useful for both program developers and individual providers.
